The Way America Cares The devastating events of September 11, 2001, will have a lasting effect on people and communities across the country. Beyond the lives and buildings shattered by the attack, the images of devastation that we witnessed as a nation will forever tarnish our sense of security. The 1400 member United Way Movement is committed to leading the country's caring people and organizations through the recovery and rebuilding process, community by community.
BUSINESS AFTER HOURS EVENT
What: 2010/2011 Campaign Kick Off event and “Business After Hours” for United Way of Wise County. Free heavy hors d’oeuvres, adult beverages and soft drinks, door prizes, fellowship, fun, information on how United Way works in Wise County, and your chance to be a Pacesetter for the United Way of Wise County.
Where: Picturesque Lonesome Pine Country Club, Big Stone Gap, VA
When: Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Why: This event will kick off our campaign which runs from September 1 through December 15 this year. United Way member agencies provide services to folks in dire need all over Wise County and the City of Norton. Here is a list of the very worthy Wise County/ City of Norton agencies that United Way will fund in 2011:

Several agencies and Wise County United Way Advisory Council members will be at this event to deliver information and answer questions. Any donations made of $1,000 or more will qualify you as a PACESETTER! This United Way Kick Off event is co-sponsored by Crutchfield Corporation, Paramont Coal Company Virginia, LLC, Wellmont Health System – Mountain Region, and Wise County Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
